I can't believe that it has been two years already. Time has gone by so fast, but I love Steven more and more each day! I seriously married the man of my dreams. He is such a great husband and father.
We had such a good time on our anniversary date. Steven decided that I needed a night away to relax, so the girls stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. I'm sure they had a blast. We went to the Jazz game, and stayed overnight. The next morning Steve took me to have my ring cleaned and fixed. The jeweler actually ended up losing my diamond, and put a little bit bigger one in it's place for free :) I love love my ring. We had so much fun getting some time alone together, but were excited to come back home to our girls. Thanks Steven for such a great night.
The girls had to go have their one year check up. They didn't find it very much fun, but were excited when they got a treat afterwards :) Brooklyn weighed 18 lbs 5 oz. and 28.4 inches. Brynlee was 17 lbs. 4 oz and 29.45 inches. They are still pretty little for 1 year olds, but the doctor is happy with the way they are growing. After how little they were when they were born, they are definitely making progress. I don't know how they couldn't, they are little pigs that like to eat all day long :) I'm so proud of them and I am excited to continue to watch them keep growing and growing.
I seriously still cannot believe that my babies are 1 year old. The time has gone by so fast. I swear this whole year went by faster than the 9 months of being pregnant. It has been the best year! The girls have grown so much. I can't believe they went from the tiny babies having to stay in the hospital, to the beautiful energetic little girls they are now. They definitely keep me going. They are all over the place, getting into everything. Their new favorite thing to do is play hide and seek in the shower curtains. I love it when I'm sitting in the front room or doing the dishes and can hear them laughing together in the bathroom, or playing together in their bedroom. They have learned to fight over EVERYTHING. I try and buy 2 of everything, but that doesn't matter to them. They both want 2 of EVERYTHING (one for each hand). They have their fights, but they love each other so much and you can see it in their eyes. I believe they are twins for a reason. They would be lost without each other, and I would be lost without the two of them together. They both have been walking for awhile now. Brynlee was around 9.5 months and Brooklyn was 10.5 months. They can say Mommy and Dadda. It's so fun to watch them grow to be the beautiful little girls they are. I can't wait to continue to watch them grow. I'm so grateful for their love and the opportunity to be their Mom. They truly are a blessing in our lives.
We had such a fun Christmas with the girls. I think I was the most excited for them. The girls woke up around 7, had a bottle and then got ready for the fun. They didn't really know what to think at first. Brooklyn was a little bit nervous, but once they got to the toys there was no stopping them. :) They had so much fun. They love all their toys. Bryn really liked the rocking horses, and I'm still trying to convince Brooklyn that they are fun. She is getting a lot better and I actually got her to ride it for a minute today. I just can't believe that soon it will be there birthday, and we will get to do the present thing all over again. They are growing so much
I have a little bit of catching up to do, so I will start with this post before I post about our wonderful Christmas. Last week on the 18th Brooklyn had to go in and have a check up on her heart. I was a nervous wreck. They had to put her out so that they could see all that they needed to without her fighting it. That was the worst part. I cried with her as they put in the IV. I kept wanting to take the pain away, but she is seriously one tough little girl. It took about 45 minutes for them to do the echo, and then another half hour in recovery. They told us we would be in recovery for a few hours, but our Brooklyn showed them how tough she is and was out in less than an hour. After that we had a clinic visit with her heart doctor to get the news on what was going on. Brooklyn's heart is getting better!! :) That was great news. The weird heart beat is gone, and the valve is starting to shut. We will have to go to another appointment in a year to do another check up, and hopefully we will continue to receive good news. We have been so blessed through all of this. We love our little girls so much! We are so grateful to be their parents.
Santa Clause always comes to Manti the day after Thanksgiving, and Steve thought it would be fun to take the girls down to see him. We knew they were going to cry, but everyone has to see Santa for the first time right? Brynlee actually thought his beard was fun, until she realized I had let go of her, and then it was all down hill from there. Brooklyn didn't like him from the start. She was nervous just being there. But now I can say that the girls have sat on his lap, and hopefully next year will go just a little bit better :)
