Brooklyn's heart

I have a little bit of catching up to do, so I will start with this post before I post about our wonderful Christmas. Last week on the 18th Brooklyn had to go in and have a check up on her heart. I was a nervous wreck. They had to put her out so that they could see all that they needed to without her fighting it. That was the worst part. I cried with her as they put in the IV. I kept wanting to take the pain away, but she is seriously one tough little girl. It took about 45 minutes for them to do the echo, and then another half hour in recovery. They told us we would be in recovery for a few hours, but our Brooklyn showed them how tough she is and was out in less than an hour. After that we had a clinic visit with her heart doctor to get the news on what was going on. Brooklyn's heart is getting better!! :) That was great news. The weird heart beat is gone, and the valve is starting to shut. We will have to go to another appointment in a year to do another check up, and hopefully we will continue to receive good news. We have been so blessed through all of this. We love our little girls so much! We are so grateful to be their parents.

Seeing Santa

Santa Clause always comes to Manti the day after Thanksgiving, and Steve thought it would be fun to take the girls down to see him. We knew they were going to cry, but everyone has to see Santa for the first time right? Brynlee actually thought his beard was fun, until she realized I had let go of her, and then it was all down hill from there. Brooklyn didn't like him from the start. She was nervous just being there. But now I can say that the girls have sat on his lap, and hopefully next year will go just a little bit better :)

Update

Our girls have been growing like crazy the last little bit. I still can't believe they are almost 10 months. I swear the pregnancy didn't go by this fast. I'm so proud of all of their accomplishments. At the start of last week Brynlee took her first steps, and now she thinks she can walk anywhere she wants. She still falls down quit a bit, but she never gives up. She now walks from toy to toy and follows me around instead of just back and forth between people. Brooklyn has been working hard to follow along. She will take a step and then fall, but she is determined and she will get there sooo soon. Brooklyn has also learned to give lots of kisses. She especially loves to give sissy kisses. I just love the fact that they are best friends. They learn from each other daily,

Jazz Game

Last night Steve talked me into leaving the girls and go out for a date night. The farm was given 4 free tickets to the Jazz game. We went with his brother Mat, and his date. We stopped by the mall and bought us all a Jazz shirt, and they went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. This is Steven's favorite place to eat. He learned about it on his mission, now this is the place we go whenever we go up there. Their salads are amazing. After that we headed to the game. It was such a good game. They played the Lakers and won. I am hoping they can have a good season this year. I can't wait to go again, even though I missed my girls like crazy.

Halloween

I had so much fun with our girls on their first halloween. We were able to go for a visit to Ftn. Green to show off their costumes to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. We also got to go see the carnival the elementary puts on every year. I think the girls had a really good time. We then came back to Manti, and me and Steven took the girls around to family trick or treating. They got lots of candy and juice. They were pretty quiet the whole time trick or treating, but when they got home they went wild. They were so happy. Brooklyn had a hard time going to bed last night, and when Steve asked her if she ate to much candy she nodded her head in agreement. It was too cute!

9 month check up

Today I had to take the girls to their 9 month well child check. And as usual our girls continue to grow. Brooklyn was 15 lbs 4 oz, and was 26.75 inches tall. She has finally made it to the 7th percentile. Brynlee weighed 14 lbs 13 oz and was 27 inches tall. She is in the 4th percentile. I am so proud of them. They have grown so much, and are such sweet Angels. Little miss Bryn has a bit of an obsession with binki's these days... I hope I can break it someday

9 months

Today the girls turned 9 months. It has been the best 9 months! We love these girls so much. They have such cute personalities, and they love their Mom and Dad. I love that they are best friends, and help me out by entertaining each other. I have to admit that there are days when I want to pull my hair out (if they haven't already done so:) but I feel that Heavenly Father has blessed me to be able to handle this. Our girls are our whole world. It's safe to say that they are the bosses in our home. They have grown so much in these 9 months, and I'm so proud of them!

Happy Birthday Mom

I
Happy birthday to my beautiful Mom. I'm so grateful for her and the wonderful example she has always been to me. My Mom's strength and Testimony have always been something I have been able to lean on. She has always been there for me, and has been my best friend. I'm so glad my girls have such an amazing Grandma. I can see their love for her when she walks in a room. And for that I am grateful. I am grateful she chose to marry a worthy preisthood holder in the Temple, and for teaching me and my brothers the gospel. Thank you Mom for everything. I love you so much!

Families are Forever

A month ago we had family pictures done by Jammie Hansen, and I'm so excited to share them with everyone. I seriously love my family so much. I say that a lot but I can't get enough of how great my life has become. I couldn't even imagine it any other way... I'm so grateful for a loving husband who does anything for me and our girls. He works so hard so that I can stay home and raise our girls. I can't thank him enough for that. I remember when we found out we were having twins, I was so nervous and couldn't believe this was really happening to me. Now that it has my life even more amazing than it already was. Brooklyn and Brynlee bring so much joy and love into our home. They are always busy and always so happy. They are already best friends, there is nothing better than finding them laughing and playing together. My heart is so full. I am so blessed!

Date night

So this post is a little late, but I guess it's better late than never... Me and Steven got to have a little date night a few weeks ago. Nothing too far away, but we had a good time. We went to the Sanpete County Derby. It was soo loud and really long, but it was nice to get away. I'm not one to want to leave the girls, so Steve was glad he could talk me into leaving them for a few hours. I'm sure glad he did, because I need more dates with my husband. :)

OUR GIRLS

I just love these sweet little girls! They are changing and growing up each day!! I love to watch them develope, when they accomplish something new they get a big smile on their faces and it is priceless. They both are crawling so good now. I can't go anywhere without them right behind me. If I ever sneek away without them seeing me, they always come find me. Brynlee likes to pull herself up and walk along the edge of things, and Brooklyn is just about ready to do it as well. Brooklyn loves music and dances along with every song she hears. I love to sing the Pretty Little Liars Song to her, and watch her dance and laugh. We are such proud parents :)

7 Months

I can't believe my beautiful babies are now 7 months old. I have enjoyed every second of our time together, and am grateful I get to stay home with them everyday. Here are a few things the girls enjoy at 7 months: FOOD (They love food, they could eat all day) Each other (It is so fun to watch them starting to play with each other.) Shoes ( they are obsessed with people's shoes especially shoe laces) Mtn. Dew (Thanks to their dad and Aunt Cassie) Baths Brynlee continues to crawl all over the place, following me around while Brooklyn tries to keep up. Brooklyn is a lot better at sitting up than Brynlee, but they both do pretty good at both. I can't wait to continue to watch them learn new things. They are always so interested in everything!

My Big Girls

I can't believe how big my girls are getting. They both sit up pretty dang good now especially Brooklyn. She is more content to sit than Brynlee. Brynlee is my crawler. She is all over the place. She follows me around the house. Brooklyn is starting to crawl a little, but she hasn't quite got the hang of it. She gets too frustrated, but I know it will be very soon when she is getting into just as much trouble as her sister. I love them so much!

Fun at the Pool

Last Monday my family came down to Manti for family home evening. We had such a nice time. We had a BBQ at our place, and then we went for a swim at the Manti Pool. I think next summer we are going to have to make this a monthly tradition. I'm so glad everyone came, it's nice to get us all together. Here are just a few picture of our family at the pool.

6 Month Check Up

The Girls had their 6 Month check up on monday. Brooklyn weighed 12 lbs 7 oz, and Brynlee was at 11 lbs 14 oz. They are making their way up there. :) Atleast they made it on the chart this time. They are getting so big. They have both been a little sick this week, but they are still so good. I love that they can smile through it all. Brynlee decided it was time to start crawling monday night as well. I can't believe it is time for that already. She isn't very fast at it yet, but when she wants something so goes and gets it. Brooklyn won't be far behind her. I love my little girls more than they may ever know :)

Lamb Days

So I'm not even lying when I say that Lamb days is my favorite time of the year. It is a week of softball, family, and fun. Each year we get to play coed softball that goes Tuesday-Saturday. You sign up to play, and then your name is drawn and put on a team, so each year your team is different. This year my team was not so good, but it was fun. I enjoyed getting to play with Steven, and also being able to play our last game against Trevor and Heidi. That is another thing I love about playing. I like to be able to play against my brothers, and just pray that my team is better. Nothing better than beating my brothers at something :) I will never forget the year that Mine and my Dad's team beat Trevor's team in the championship. I also love being able to watch the men's tournament on saturday morning. The Killer's took 2nd this year, hopefully they can do better next year. Also Lamb Day fireworks were AMAZING this year. Such a fun time of year, and I can't wait til next year :)

The Girls enjoying their very first Lamb days :)
