Our Summertime Adventures

Here are a few pictures of our favorite summer adventures. I finally was able to take the girls to get their ears pierced. They did so good. I was nervous, but they only cried for a minute. Now they don't even bother them, and they look adorable. The girls have really taken a liking to swimming. They definitely don't get that from their Mom, but I do have fun taking them and watching them play. The Nephi pool even has a place just the right size for them. Brook and Bryn have come to know the concession stands. They learned that one fast from all the ball games we have been to this year. Their favorite thing to get is sno cones. They LOVE them. They love ice in general, so adding flavor to their ice only makes it better right? We were able to make the Johnson family reunion this year, and had a blast. My mom watched the girls while Steven and I were able to go on the big family horse ride. I think there were 19 of us that went this year. It was so nice to get back in the saddle again. I need to go again before summer time is over. I was even able to get them to get on a horse without being scared. I was so happy to see them enjoy the horses. I can't wait to take them on a ride! Steven took me and the girls on our own little family camping trip. We just went up Manti Canyon to a little spot called Yerns. Steve made us an awesome orange chicken dinner, and some cobbler. The girls love being able to sleep in a tent, and being able to run around outside exploring. It was so nice just to get away and spend time as a Family without having to worry about anything else. I'm sad to see the summer coming closely to an end. We have loved all the time we get to spend in Ftn. Green with my parents. They are so good to my girls and I'm glad we can be close to them. We have also enjoyed walking down to Grandma and Grandpa Olson's to jump on the tramp and see the cow. It has been a great summer. Overall the best thing about this summer, is the time we got to spend with Family. I love my cute little family with all my heart. I am truly blessed with a great husband, and daughters.

18 months

I have a hard time believing that little girls are 18 months old. They are now going to Nursery (which has now become my new calling), they are starting to talk more, and just busy busy busy all day long. It has been so fun to watch them discover new things. I love listening to them say new words, and figure out what I'm saying to them. They love each other more, but yet fight with each other even more. But what are sisters for right? Brooklyn has a bad habit of biting her sister, but Brynlee takes it pretty good. I'm glad she doesn't try biting her back, but I have to figure out how to break Brooklyn's habit. When we went to their 18 month check up, their doctor was so impressed with their strength. They are tough little girls. They love reading books, jumping on the tramp, sliding, and swimming. Being a mom to Brooklyn and Brynlee has become life. I enjoy it so much. I have bad days just like everyone else, but I wouldn't change this crazy life for anything else. I love them with all my heart, and feel so blessed to get to stay at home to take care of them.

Lamb Days

I have so much to catch up on, but I think I will just do one post at a time. Lamb Days is my favorite time of the year. I don't think anyone who isn't from Ftn. Green understands the importance of this day (well actually week) I just can't think of anything better than summertime, spending time with family, playing softball, and getting together as a community to have some fun. The week starts out with some Coed softball. You sign up to play, and they draw your name our of hats, and put you on a team. Trevor described the night before Lamb Days, when you find out who's team your on as "Christmas Eve." Now other people might find that crazy, but we love it. It turned out that Me and Steven got put on Trevor's team, which was pretty fun. I have never had my brothers on one of my teams, and since Heidi is pregnant, she didn't get to play. Ryan and Cassie were on a different team. I was pretty bummed we didn't get the chance to play them. Saturday is the official Lamb Days. The kids enjoy being in, and watching the Parade while the guys play in the Men's League softball tournament. This year Ryan and Trevor were put in charge of it, and I think they did a good job. It turned out nice, and they ended up taking 2nd place. After taking a little break from the sun, we are back to playing softball, and then watching the most amazing fireworks. I just don't see how it can get better than that!

Mothers Day

I know I am a week behind, but I thought I had better get my mothers day post in. I had a great mothers day. I love getting to spend it with my cute little family, and also being able to go hang out in Ftn. Green with my Mom. I honestly believe there is no greater blessing than that of being a mother. My girls mean the world to me, and make me even more grateful for the wonderful mother that I have. I hope I can be half the Mom she is. She has always been a best friend. She is truly an example of the kind of women to become. She loves that gospel, and is not afraid to show it. She always puts her family first. She is a strong women. I don't know how she does the things she does. She continues to go each day with a smile on her face. My girls just adore their grandma Johnson. We love you Mom. I am also grateful for my Mother in law and for raising such a wonderful husband and father. She has become an awesome grandma. Growing up I never even considered having twins a possibility. I knew a few twins, but never even thought about it. But now that I am, I wouldn't change it for anything. They have become my best friends. They never fail to put a smile on my face each day. Watching them grow and become closer and closer is awesome. They light up when they see each other in the morning after waking up. If one is sleeping and the other is awake it just drives them crazy. They need each other, and I love that. Whenever I have had a bad day, or am sad, they both wrap their arms around my neck and just love me til I'm better. They are the sweetest. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for the chance to be their Mom.

Life

Life is going great here in Manti. We have been enjoying the sunshine and spending most of our days outside. We have went to the turkey farm a couple times to help Steve with his chores. The girls just love getting out of the house and experiencing new things. Steve also had a birthday last month. It's hard to believe that we are already 24 :) He was also lucky enough to share his birthday with a beautiful little niece. Every since Christmas Steve has been dying to have a slushy maker for those hot summer days when he comes home from work. So I hopped on Amazon on found him one. So far he has loved it. I hope he had am enjoyable birthday. He definitely deserves the best. He is such a great husband and father. I don't know if there is anything greater than to watch how much he loves his girls, and how much they love him back. He has been such a great dad, and would do anything for us. He is such a hard worker, and for that I am very grateful. We love you Steve! I also decided it was time for something new with my hair. Cassie had convinced me that I needed to cut my hair, so I did it. I'm still working on getting used to it, but I like it. I think Steve likes it too, but he's too sweet to say anything else.

Easter

I know I am way behind on my blogging, so I figured it was time to blog about Easter. Easter this year was so fun for us. Last year the girls were only a few month old so they didn't understand anything going on, but this year they loved it. We spend saturday with the Olson family. We took the girls down to the park for the egg hunt. They had a blast and got so much candy. Then we spent the afternoon at the farm eating bbq turkey and just enjoying time with family. The girls loved being outside and able to run around wherever they pleased. They can't get enough of being outside. Sunday we went to Ftn. Green to listen to my family do the Sacrament program. It was so good. Best Sacrament I've been to in a long time. We also stayed for lunch and spent more time outside playing in Grandpa and Grandma's backyard. I'm so grateful for Easter and the reason for celebrating. I'm so very grateful for my Savior and his atoning sacrafice. I know I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for the love of my Savior.

Catch up on life

It seems lately I haven't had much time to blog. The girls keep me busy, and they don't like when I sit down to use the computer. So hopefully this morning while they are still sleeping I can get caught up. Lately Brynlee has become a big Mamma's girl. I can't say that I don't LOVE it, cause I do :) I just feel bad when she won't go to Steve. But Brooklyn fills that void for him. She loves her Daddy. She always runs to give him a kiss when he comes home from work. The girls are growing up right before our eyes. I can't believe how fast time goes. I remember days sitting at work wishing the day to be over, and now I just want it to slow down. I need more time to enjoy my baby girls. They are starting to talk a little bit. They can say Mommy, Dad, No, Tickle Tickle, Cheese, and Teeth. A couple of weeks ago, Ryan's family, Rory and his kids, my Parents, and my family went bowling here in Ephraim. It was a lot of fun to get out and do things with them. It was even better knowing I came away beating my husband :) The weather has been nice enough to take the girls on a walk. I decided to take them down to visit their Dad at work. It was quite the walk, some of it being on dirt road. But it was a nice work out for me, and the girls got to see what their dad does all day. It was even a bonus that baby turkeys had just shown up that day, so the girls got to go in and see them. They didn't really know what to think, but they did give thm kisses. We took the girls to the doctor on Monday. They both had been running fevers, but Brooklyn had gotten pretty bad Sunday night. Brooklyn came away with double ear infection. It has bit been very fun, and I'm pretty sure Brynlee now has that same thing. I am so blessed to have such tough girls. They try so hard to play through their sickness. That has basically been our life in a nutshell. I spend all day loving on my girls, and Steve works hard to allow me to do that. I am grateful everyday to be a stay a home Mom.
